Step by step

Inside a session at Hala Spa

The arc of a visit to Hala Spa reads: arrive, sign in, change, brief therapist consultation, 60 minutes on the treatment bed, gentle wake-up, dress, pay, leave. The whole thing fits comfortably in a 90-minute window when you arrive on time.

Before any treatment at Hala Spa, the therapist will ask three things: pressure preference, problem areas, and conversation preference. Be specific. "Heavy on the shoulders, light on the lower back, mostly quiet" is much more useful than "whatever's standard." The therapists speak English and Arabic and will adjust the treatment fluidly as they go.

Worst massage experience ever! I paid for 1.5 hours, but the therapist ended the session in just 1 hour. When I pointed it out, she apologized and came back to ‘continue’—but it was a complete joke. She was barely even massaging, just lightly touching my body with no effort at all. It felt like she was just going through the motions to make up for the lost time. Absolutely unprofessional and not worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

If you respect yourself, don’t go there. It was the first time I experienced such a filthy spa. The so-called “Moroccan bath” is completely fake. They use artificial steam, and the cover they place under you is visibly dirty—I could see exfoliated skin and leftover scrub from previous customers. They even reuse the same sponge on multiple people. The entire place is incredibly unhygienic, and the massage was awful as well. This was, by far, the most disgusting spa experience I’ve ever had.

Day-of details

Everything practical about the visit

Pre-visit prep, on-site flow, post-treatment care — the practical sequence for Hala Spa.

1

Booking, check-in and consultation

Use WhatsApp to book Hala Spa — it's the local default and replies come back fast (5–15 minutes in business hours). Arrive 10 minutes before the treatment for the changing room and consultation. Booking 24+ hours ahead is the right call; walk-ins are hit-and-miss.

2

How payment and tips work

Payment options: cash, debit, credit cards (WhatsApp first to confirm Apple Pay if you rely on it). Tipping is appreciated rather than expected; AED 50–100 in cash handed directly to the therapist is the standard for a great session.

3

Post-treatment notes

Aftercare: water, light meal, no strong workouts for 12 hours, and avoid alcohol for the rest of the day (especially after deep tissue). Facial aftercare adds: no new skincare products that night, SPF tomorrow.
